What were the changes to the notification portal in December 2020?
In response to user comments and wishes, some changes were made to the notification portal in December 2020.
VAT number
If your company has a VAT number, or if you have a VAT number as a self-employed person, you are obliged to provide this number.
It is now possible to indicate in the notification portal that the company or self-employed person does not have a VAT number.
In some countries, a VAT number is not mandatory for certain companies and sometimes it is not possible for certain companies to request a VAT number. In some countries, for example, this applies to self-employed persons or to companies with a turnover under a certain amount.
If the company or self-employed person does have a VAT number, they are still obliged to provide this number.
Chamber of Commerce number established in the Netherlands.
When a company is registered in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce or in a commercial registry outside the Netherlands, it is mandatory to provide this registration number. However, registration in a commercial registry is not mandatory for all companies and self-employed persons in Europe, and in some cases it is not possible. Therefore it is now possible to indicate this in the notification portal.
If the company or self-employed person is registered in a commercial registry, they are still obliged to provide this number.
Companies based in the Netherlands must always register with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. It is therefore not possible for those companies to state on the form that they are not registered in a commercial registry. So if a company or self-employed person states a registered address in the Netherlands, they are always obliged to provide a Dutch Chamber of Commerce number.
Temporary employment agencies based outside the Netherlands that post workers to the Netherlands are also obliged to register in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. For these companies, it is also mandatory to provide the Chamber of Commerce number in the notification portal.
Contact person for one-year notifications in international road transport
In the case of one-year notifications in international road transport, it is now possible to indicate in the notification portal that notified workers in the Netherlands act as contact persons for their own journeys. In that case, they will be requested to provide a mobile phone number.
The employer abroad can therefore choose between two options: appoint a contact person in the Netherlands for the project, or indicate that the workers are contact persons for their own journeys.
For one-year notifications in road transport, it was already possible to provide an address outside the Netherlands for the contact person. This does not change.
Personal identification number and other personal data
It is no longer mandatory to enter the personal identification number of the notifying party, the legal representative, the contact person in the Netherlands and the person responsible for paying the wage.
The personal identification number (if this has been entered), the date of birth and the nationality of these persons are also protected from the service recipient. This means that the service recipient will only see the name, address and e-mail of the aforementioned persons.
It remains mandatory to provide the personal identification number of posted workers.
Number A1 certificate
The maximum number of digits that can be entered for the number of an A1 certificate has been extended.
Search function by some personal data
Employers abroad and service recipients can now search for workers by e-mail address and personal identification number, within the notifications to which they have access.
A “Search” button has been added to the “My notifications” tab. It is not possible to search by other personal data.
