Employer / Self-employed person

Who can be a contact person and what is their role?

A contact person is the point of contact in the Netherlands for the employer abroad. It must be a person who is present in the Netherlands, who can answer the Inspectorate SZW’s questions about the posting on behalf of the employer abroad.

A contact person must also be authorised to send and receive documents about the posting. Only natural persons can be a contact person. A posted worker can function as a contact person, provided they are available throughout the service period in the Netherlands to answer questions from the Inspectorate SZW. An administrative office cannot be a contact person, but a person working in an administrative office can.

In the case of one-year notifications in international road transport, notified workers can act as the contact person for their own journeys, or else an address in the Netherlands or elsewhere can be given for the contact person.
